Maria is a Freelance Sports Photographer based in Calgary, AB with an interest in Long Track Speed Skating, five pin bowling, and university sports. Having previously covered national and international events in Canada and the United States, she has a keen eye for the high-speed and ever-changing nature of sport. Aside from her photography, she has also been a writer for Passion/Speed/Skating since the 2018 Olympics where she combines her passion for sport and media. Maria actively pursues academic excellence and is currently completing a Masters of Science in Epidemiology. Her academic interests include the intersections of climate change and infectious disease, occupational and environmental health, geospatial analysis, and statistical modelling.
