Maria is a Freelance Sports Photographer based in Calgary, AB with an interest in winter sport - primarily long track speed skating. Having previously covered national and international events in Canada and the United States, she has a keen eye for the high-speed and ever-changing nature of sport. Aside from photography, Maria is currently wrapping up her MSc. in Population and Public Health at the University of Calgary with research interests at the intersection of chronic disease and healthcare system barriers, patient advocacy, geospatial analysis, and scientific misinformation. She loves to bike, ski, golf, and spend time outside!
